Go to browser and open Gmail
Select the account photo associated with your account. In case, you have not uploaded any photo, first letter of your name will display as image. You can find it on the upper-right corner of the screen.
Now select “Google Account”.
Go to “Personal Info” from Google account.
In the “Contact info” section select “Phone”.
Go to Google account phone number and select “Edit”. It is denoted by a pencil icon.
It will ask to enter your Google password. Enter your password and click “Next”.
Now click on “Edit”
Select “Update Number”
Enter the new phone number. Click “Select” after giving your new number.
Your number will get updated successfully now.
How to change phone number in Gmail App for iOS and Android

The process to change phone number on Gmail app is almost similar one in PC except some icons. Following steps will help you in changing phone number using the Gmail mobile app:

Open the Gmail app.
Log into your account.
Click the “Menu” button, it is denoted by three horizontal lines.
Select “Settings” from the Gmail screen.
Go to “Gmail address”.
Click on “Manage your Google Account”
Here, tap “Personal info”.
Tap “Phone” in the personal info screen.
Tap “Edit”, represented by a pencil icon. It is present at the right of the current phone number.
You will be asked to enter your password to verify your identity. Enter it.
Tap “Next” after entering your password.
Now tap “Edit” in the Phone screen
Click on “Update number”.
Enter the new number you want to link to your Gmail account.
Tap “Select” after changing the phone number, this completes the process and your number has been updated.
